Printmaking & Graphics

This course will teach the fundamentals of Graphic Design through the creative process of combining art and technology to communicate ideas.  We will look at Visual Culture today and the impact of images we see on a daily basis.  It is great for a student who is interested in visual communication, which includes typography, product design, book/page design, and advertising.  We will explore “Old School” Graphic projects such as Printmaking processes like Silkscreen.  We will also explore “New School” Graphic Design through Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.  Projects that are assigned meet NYS Learning Standards for the Arts and Common Core Standards.
